I've just done all the optimizations recommended for W10 audio PCs. Also stopped upsampling in Jriver. Was using 96KHz for anything lower than 96. Anything above at source level. It's certainly not worse.. I'll listen for a while then go back to 96 again and see. I get lost with these settings 'upgrades' and lose myself or do it way back and then have it like that because that's how it's always been.
One guy I was reading about puts his laptop on Still Points.

BTW check out the first two pages of this blog!!! I'm repopulating the Photobucket photos that were trashed / ransomed by Photofucket. Painful, but has to be done. Only another 38 or so pages to go <rollseyes>

Yes. It's a nice memory to have. Past energy and madness put into the hobby, future developments and implementation yet to be inspired BTW anyone wanting to edit an old timed out TAS blog / post can do so in Tapatalk! I discovered this by trial and error. As long as you have the pics available to view on your phone / tablet (mine are all on Google drive among other places), the app can pick them up and format them quicky and upload. It's actually easier than messing about in Flickr copying and pasting URLs! Might be more permanent too - who knows what Flickr's September announcement will hold / bring.

Steve - I've just read from the start of the project on page 1, up until your fiddling with the NAJDA and fabricating the box for it!
Makes great reading and looking forward to you adding the rest of the pictures.

I've done all the photos that were photofucket messed up. I need to check things from a browser and not just my phone to really make sure all is okay.
They are making getting your photos from them a horrible experience! Pop up ads every 10secs. Not showing the large screen of photos you want to download, just that annoying message of theirs, but the download of individual photo still works. The album download fails for me every time!! Good riddance to bad rubbish with photofucket.

Reminds me of another audio forum. Pop-ups in your face, adverts everywhere, attempts to make money from a large user base?

I've been looking at the 12" driver variant for the mid bass horns again. The move / post move got in the way! All the simulations were done before. I just need to find a pair of suitable drivers and committ saw / lathe to wood Here's a reminder of SIM plot, throat portion to be made and total horn size. In the current music room I have, length is not an issue. Although I may need to rethink access to the mains socket on off, as currently one switch powers all the amps up in one hit.. Now to find some nice drivers. Or should I get a Gigabyte Brix, SSD etc. Prob similar money unless I get lucky with secondhand drivers. The Brix might improve the SQ across the board, the mid bass is just the mid bass

I always found helping one element in the sound has a knock on effect on the rest of the sound quality

Tried turning WiFi off on the laptop. I seemed to struggle to get Jriver via LAN to link to Gizmo on phone on WiFi but now it works.
That's quite a free upgrade right there and not a small one either!
Also liking not up uppsamling in Jriver (let Najda do that) and turning off volume levelling (what was I thinking?) This rocks!
