Why do you need a second drive? Make sure you buy NVMe M2 SSD, like the Samsung 960 Pro, which is extremely rapid. You can get them up to 2TB.

If I was fitting a 2TB M2 SSD then no, one drive would be plenty, but I'd say a 2TB drive is a bit pricey. I'm a bit out of touch on new SSD's what's the difference between a standard M2 drive and a NVMe? Was only thinking 2 drives for a fast boot drive and slower storage drive as I have a load of music I'd prefer to keep locally and not have taking up onedrive space. The other option is to invest in a NAS.

M2 is the fastest type of NVMe but check that the PC can take it.

I've got quite a lot of storage, but I do work with some huge graphics and music files. SSD
480 GB for OS 240 GB Photoshop Scratch Disk Internal SATA2 TB x3 USB/External
2TB x2 4TB x1 You might consider it a bit "excessive," though, Martin.

Looks like a big update is imminent, version 2004. One of my desktops is getting it now, and Jeans laptop says it's coming soon.
I prefer to do these big updates manually at a time that suits me.

Yes, it's the Feature Update, 2004 (20H1), coming to selected machines at the moment.

My number two PC has been updated, took a while but seemingly no problems.
Jeans laptop has a message re the update saying the computer is not ready yet.
My laptop and number one PC have no messages and don't respond to normal manual updates (as far as 2004 is concerned) so I'll wait for Microsoft to get things in order.
