This is my biggest concern when we move. Will I ever achieve again the sound I have right now?

This is my biggest concern when we move. Will I ever achieve again the sound I have right now? Based on my experience Go back to basics Get a super sparky in, before you move if possible. Trawl around for a hifi sparky, must be around New CU ? Dedicated circuit, maybe even a partial or total house rewire Check the mobile broadband with your phone, possibly switch back to land line if poor Move to a bungalow

Get a super sparky in, before you move if possible. That's what I did last time. I had the dedicated 60A circuit with consumer unit installed just for the hi-fi system. The sparky was good and measured the earth impedance as part of the test, too. Nothing better than a low impedance dedicated high current circuit powering two regenerators for the ultimate in power quality.

Biggest mistake in Audio; let me think there have been a few; Magico, musical infidelity, Lumley speakers, Kondo amps, Krell. But its been a long road lol

Oh my goodness, I'd forgotten about them. What an absolute clusterf*ck those speakers were when I auditioned them. Never in the field of speakers has so much damage been done by so many drivers to such little effect.

And so on to my final entry here, the one that hurt me and pissed me off the most. My Roksan Xerxes turntable with SME IV arm and AT OC9 cartridge. Well, what's wrong with that, you may ask? Nothing at all when it was new! The problem was, it suffered from a fatal design flaw. That long cut in the top plate caused it to be too weak to support the platter bearing and pickup arm, with the result that over 3-4 years the top plate sagged causing the whole thing to become impossible to align properly. It had become a very expensive boat anchor. To my utter disgust, Roksan refused to do anything about it such as repair or replace it free of charge. Their solution? They ditched it and released a brand new design leaving us Xerxes owners high and dry. I resolved never to touch anything made by Roksan ever again. I had one for about six months when they first came out. The isolation for the top plate were a couple of rubber grommets at each corner. To test that the setup was correct, the dealer simply moved the top plate side to side and fore to aft by holding on to the removeable centre spindle. Thank goodness I didn't get the chance to see the platter collapse.

I think for me, the worst purchase decision was a Chapter Audio pre power combo. They replaced a Krell Kav300i and didn’t bring much to the table. They were fast and clean, but lacked any emotion.
I also regret selling a Krell FPB200.

I remember Chapter Audio. Never got to hear one. I don’t know if they are still around, but there are some used examples at very reasonable prices I noticed last night.
