It's that time of year again. What are you planning for your system next year?
For me, my main target is the same as last year: to upgrade my EtherREGEN to an EtherREGEN Gen 2. This is planned to have an SFP cage on the 'B' side which should improve performance for those of us currently using the original EtherREGEN in reverse to feed an optical cable to our streamers.
That's it, no other major plans, but I'll carry on tweaking where I think I can get further improvements.

First purchase for me will be a DAC as I sold my Topping recently.
After that I will buy an external clock and most likely a grounding box.

I will probably add an Innuos PhoenixNET to the German system to replace the EtherREGEN / Hypsos / Mutec that I moved there from the UK when i made that change there.
I also plan to re-house the Linn Radikal external speed control unit into a smaller case as it is mostly air in the Linn one (designed so that the case matches other Linn components I assume). I have bought a milled aluminium case (in black of course) already and just need to modify it to take the Radikal board and PSU. That will allow me to move the PhoenixNET off the floor and into the rack beside it. I might even try using a Hypsos PSU to power it in place of the Linn one(which I suspect is identical to the one in the Lingo case).
I will continue with the change from UK plugs to Schuko ones connecting the components to the Gordion and Titan power conditioners in the UK. In Germany of course everything is Schuko already.
Lector eventually sent me my 'spare' CD player back last month (it only took them 5 years to repair / upgrade it!) and that is now back in the system in the UK, but needs to be 'run in' further and that won't happed until 2024. They also rebuilt the DAC to their latest specification which enables it to be used for sources up to 24/192 as their S192 unit can. Although it probably won't replace the Lab12 DAC, I may use it in a system in a garden room / studio that I am thinking about building although that might not happen until 2025 as the land purchase has stalled. If it does happen then my spare pair of Shahinian Arc speakers will come out to play along with the Suono amplifier and, assuming Sue ever sends me it, a Townshend Allegri Reference pre-amplifier they owe me. I'm not sure about what source I will use yet, but it will be streaming / file playback only. I suspect that will mean the EtherREGEN will journey back again to the UK: it's carbon footprint is ever growing it seems!

More a time to settle in with my system for 2024 Enjoy purchases over the last 14 months
Modded Dac, modded DDC, I2S cable, speaker cables + jumpers, USB regenerator, speaker stands, linear power supplies, power conditioners, grounding boxes, speaker and component isolators.
As for 2024? Small things. Necessity as well as common sense (having neared the end).
So Receive the four upgraded Mad Scientist Black Magic Ultra power cables (and two new) Upgrade linear power supply fuses Rustins G Shield Grounding cables
Perhaps Upgrade to an ISO REGEN Tungsten blocks on clocks
All that's surely a year's worth!

Get more into the swing of streaming. Usage of is the main one with tweaks as appropriate
Reorganise the racks which probably won't need more kit but might of course

All I plan to do in the next few years, not just this coming year is listen to what I have when I get the chance. having changed jobs recently it's not going to be possible to listen as and when I like as it has been for the last decade. We also want to move from this absolute hole of a town soon, so I am not spending on anything I don't need to for the forseeable. An endgame that is worth curtailing my hifi antics for. I have however allowed myself one last swansong purchase before we go into full scrimp mode, an Oracle Delphi mk1. As folks know, I have a fascination for anything that plays the black stuff, have a load of decks, of which I am gradually selling off, and cant resist an odd/rare/wierd deck. Plan is to keep the Oracle and my JBE series 3 (the two prettiest decks ever made in my opinion, others mileage may vary) and the jvc qly5f my wife uses, then sell the other stuff I have. Couldn't resist the oracle, it looks fabulous.
So, no more hifi spending, we have a higher aim in mind.
However.... I will probably invest a little in my headphone system. This comprises of a jvc qly3f, vm750sh, project phono stage, wad hd83 headphone amp, and hifiman deva planars.
I'll probably put a bit into the phono stage, that's probably it. I'm pretty happy with that little setup as it is

First stage of the 2024 plan has been started as I found a secondhand Innuos PhoenixNET for sale in the UK. Although it will be delivered next week, I won't bring it to Germany until January and so it is a 2024 update really. Honest! Now I need to order an extra network cable from AQVox (along with a USB cable).

For me hard to plan for next year. Hopefuly I could get the system back up abd running to where it was, or a big change in my system setup due to living restrictions

None whatsoever, the same as every other year. That doesn't necessarily mean nothing will happen though.
