Festival at Baghdad from Sheherazade (Rimsky-Korsakov)A slightly longer snippet from the wonderful Sheherazade composed by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1888. It is based on the Arabian Nights Middle Eastern folk tales. The orchestral style combines a very Russian feel with an obvious Arabian setting. Yikes another recording to add to my collection of Scheherazades.
Problem with RK is that he didn't compose enough music of this calibre ...
