Greetings! I am the new guy here. To set the context, I live in Western New York, in the US. I was born in the 60's,
grew up in the 70's, came of age in the 80's, and the 90's were the best years of my pre-marriage life.
I am an appreciator of vintage turntables, stereo receivers (solid-state), and speakers.
Nothing terribly high-end, except maybe my Pioneer PL-71 turntable. I prefer smaller, discrete
amps and receivers, with 10-25 WPC.
Preferring the "East-Coast" sound, my favorite speakers that I own are KLH Model Thirty-One,
Jensen Model 2, and the original Boston Acoustics A60. I think the A60's color the sound ever
so slightly, but they still have that extended, natural bass sound and are very detailed.
I have an extensive CD-quality digital music library, as well as about 700-800 vinyl LP's.
Fav artists are Yes, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree & Steven Wilson solo, Rush, 50's east-coast jazz,
female singers esp Julie London, Jo Stafford, early Helen Merrell, Maria Callas (opera), Kate Bush,
Linda Ronstadt among others old and new. Having said that, I do venture waaay off the charted
course listed above. Classical (chamber, mostly not symphonic) Ambient, Americana, trip-hop (1990's - 2000's)
Currently, I am setting up an electronics workbench to revive a growing collection of stereo receivers
and radios.
See you all around the forums!
