That's a gorgeous Custom Shop Gretsch. I'm guessing it really hurt to sell it on; I know I'd probably still be wearing black and mourning the loss.

eBay strikes again. Well, I hadn't got an orange one... It's a 2/3 sized Jackson Dinky " Minion" JS1X in (as shown here) Neon Orange. Hopefully the scaled down size should facilitate some humungous string-bending, and if I get on with it I plan to swap out the high-output Jackson pickups with something more buesy, and not so heavy-metal-shreddy. Sacrilege. A Dinky is made for metal, end of ...

An epic night at the Grand Opening of House of Neville art gallery. I used my Taylor Fall Limited Koa for this gig. Art , music, and old friends are what makes our lives so special!!

I haven't owned an acoustic 12-string since back in 1978, when I got an Ovation Glen Campbell 12 string. But this week I scored this Taylor 954ce that will arrive shortly! I already have a Taylor Fall Limited Koa that sounds great plugged in for our gigs. Hoping the Expression pickup on this model sounds as good...

Looks fab. I was admiring Gordon Giltrap's signature electro-acoustic guitar when we saw him in concert, a couple of rows from the front, a couple of years ago.

Our latest gig at the Neville Art Gallery was a success, with the new Taylor 954ce 12-string!

A cheapy-cheap Gretsch I couldn't resist. I had 10% off at eBay too, plus the " 4 Nectar points / £1.00" is now in operation, as long as you remember to shop via the Nectar site. The colour is "Gold Dust". Well, I hadn't got a gold one.

Ah yes, thanks for reminding me that ordering from eBay using Nectar has changed.
Nice guitar!

Nice - My 1st Gretsch was this 1963 Tennessean about 10 years ago. Should have kept it!

That would cost the best part of £4K at least over here, at current prices. Sadly that's way out of my league. If I had money to burn I'd probably go for the Custom Shop G6128 Burled Maple "Closet Classic" in Trans Green Burst, or, for a more reasonable price, a Brian Setzer Signature model.

Another Gretsch I owned and later sold, Custom Shop Penguin...... Believe it or not, I just like the sound I get from the Dynasonic pickups in my current Harrison Duo Jet, much better than the Filtertrons in the Penguin.

I've just ordered the "Parlour" style/size of this, which has the smallest body in the range. It's third from the left in the pic below, the Vintage VE880WK Statesboro Parlour Electro Acoustic Guitar in Whisky Sour fininsh. I think the model name is bigger than the guitar. . It's an electro-acoustic (unlike the one in the video) and it comes from those wonderful folks at "Vintage" which is part of the John Hornby Skewes & Co. stable. They're also the people who produce the 6-string & 12-string Gordon Giltrap signature guitars I own. I've also got another 12-string of theirs, as well as a very nice Ash Blonde Telecaster copy. My new guitar was designed in association with another top guitarist, the late Paul Brett, who was a Facebook friend, so I already knew something aboput the model. I wanted something cheap I could leave knocking around to pick up when and if I want to, and as all of my other acoustics are full-sized instruments I wanted something a bit easier to have hanging around too. Also, all of my other acoustics are in cases, so there's a " process" involved when I play one, which I've now short-circuited. This can sit on a stand sans case within arms-reach of my computer chair. They really are stupidly cheap, as the video below says, and I got it for £50.00 off list too. As you can see, the electonics are fully featured for such an inexpensive guitar. Not something one always finds.
