I'll kick off the traditional New Year plans thread this time.
What are you planning for your system/room this coming year? Give us everything, large, small or just the embryo of an idea.
For me it's going to be a very quiet year in that my system is complete in design and I want to spent time researching music and chasing rabbits down holes.
There is one component I'll have my eye on: the Uptone EtherREGEN Gen2 when it releases around February 2023. If it does what John Swenson promises (reduced jitter and an improved external sine to squarewave clock converter) then I'll be placing my order for one. Maybe also another two QA grounding boxes to have one on each vital digital component.
Otherwise, I'll be making lots of use of the Qobuz requests URL for adding wanted albums to the service.

My plans are to buy a dedicated streamer at some point and there’s a possibility we might convert the attic and make a dedicated music room which will have sound proofing and room treatments.

I have absolutely no idea what will change

I will certainly be installing an Innuos PhoenixUSB in the German system and will probably ship the EtherREGEN, etc over from the UK (unless I weaken and buy an Innuos PhoenixNET too).
The UK system will get the Schuko conversion to the outputs of the two Gordion power conditioners and some new fuses and cable rationalisation (and new Schuko plugs). The Linn speed controller will get rehoused in the new case I bought allowing the PhoenixNET and it to sit side-by-side on the rack.
If Sue ever sends me the Allegri Reference that is supposed to be replacing my Enigma that Max could never get to work properly then I'll to see if it ousts the standard Allegri I use in the UK system. Having changed the re-clocking system there should be a chance of squeezing it in if I like it.

My first goal is to extract the maximum performance from my new power amp.
I'll be cautiously venturing into the hinterland of external clocks and grounding boxes.
I may / may not acquire a new DAC.

My only envisaged spending is if/when my Cartridgeman Musicmaster line contact stylus wears out, it's now irreplaceable since Len left us, a re tip would be problematic as the suspension must surely have hardened.
I was contemplating a pension friendly option in the Ortofon 2M black but after hearing one or two after the £1800 Music master though as one of Len's Guinea Pig's I did not pay anywhere near that, unsurprisingly it's a not for me.
I have heard & liked the Hanna ML in a friends revealing system the same friend who is in the trade will wire in with my pure silver insulated wire a pair of SUT's the same type that he used in his own build Nuvista phono stage into my Croft Vitale cased 3 shielded valve phono stage with over kill PSU that Len Gregory got Mr Croft to make for me, thus making it switchable MM/MC.
I told my wife no big Xmas present for me this year in anticipation of a potential big spend in 2023...

I have the Audio GD DI-20HE DDC and LHY OCK-01 external clock at Coherent for some work. Get those back and in. Have an Audience AU24Sx AES/EBU arriving in January. And getting my AU24Sx RCA cable, SGS-1 grounding box and BR Big Pads back from my cousin. Set up the Intel Nuc with Roon.
Then new? Nothing major now...
An LPS for the network switch. Oscillating between Plixir Elite and the Zero Zone 01-A supercap LPS. Perhaps a new wifi router. Sort out the plug board situation. Puritan is just a little too long. Another set of BR Big Pads.

Nothing planned but we know something will happen
Still loving playing my CDs even though I stopped buying a couple of months ago and yet to decide on a streaming service
Maybe an external PSU for the Bluesound
Maybe some tweaks to the kitchen system as now so very far behind the main system Pioneer CD, SMSL Q5 and MA speakers

If Sue ever sends me the Allegri Reference That's been a very long time coming, Pete? Only a couple of years. Nothing compared with Lector repairing my 'spare' CD player: coming up to 6 years I think!

Thank you daytona600. Other than the body shell from Grado all Musicmaster internals were of Len's manufacture including the silver coils, he may have bought in in the Sapphire cantilever fitted with the line contact stylus though I suspect not, as my Musicmaker 1,2,& 3 the stylus & cantilever were in house. I have listened to Grado cartridges they are not the same fare. Len told me that the lack of resonance in that Grado Shell was the best he had tried.

Plans are the playthings of SATAN, and so I shall plan nothing. That way I will not be disappointed, and if something good should actually happen, it'll be a nice surprise.

Ah yes... "The New Amplifier". The Scarlet Pimpernel of the TAS Threads section. It is real then? Not just the illusionary product of perhaps a suspect past it's best Melton Mowbray pork pie?

So he did. Strangely enough though, no mention in the thread created for the announcement.

Nothing planned here. NOTHING
It hit me that it's all money down the drain when I realised how much I could enjoy music through a £130 Bluetooth speaker. That's less than some people pay for a fuse or a kettle lead.
I'm cured.
