I love this kind of track and, as a teenager, I used to record endless numbers of compilation tapes of the stuff.
Almost every southern rock band on the planet has tried to write their own 'Freebird', which must be the most obvious big slow burner track. Personally, I prefer 'Tuesday's gone' and 'Simple man' from the 'Pronounced...' album. I quite like stuff like 'Highway song', 'Searchin'' and 'Diary of a working man' by Blackfoot.
I have a theory that Skynyrd had been listening to 'Argus' by Wishbone Ash when they were writing the guitar parts for 'Freebird'. To me, 'Time was' and 'Sometime world' sound like they may have been a big influence.
'Before and after' from the first Rush album and 'In the end' from 'Fly by Night'
'Tea for one' by Led Zep
Both tracks on the 'Nihonjin' album by Far Out.

I also prefer Tuesday Gone over Freebird I like a bit Blackfoot they were a good live band. Prefer Seachin over Highway song I cannot remember Diary of a Working man Been so long since I listened to Early Rush I need to re-visit Wishbone Ash to see if I can get into them. I tried a few times. I have not heard anything by Far Out I added a few slow tracks like Man of the World and A Million Miles Away to start to build up the mood.

Also from Rory G, 'Fuel to the fire' from Photo Finish is a cracker.

Duane Allman was featured on the Scaggs track, which makes me remember Elizabeth Reed.

A few random "slow-burners".
Loads of stuff by Queen, Zep, Dire Straits, Floyd...
