I'm happy to say that Sainsbury's bog-standard Alsace Gewurztraminer is as delicious as I remember. It really is delicious. It was also quite amazing how fast the Moscatel went from "Wow, that's very sweet indeed..." to "Well, just another half glass then..."

We had a bottle of Moet that was... ordinary, like Moet usually is.

Polish Greek style fish. Hear me now. It is the sauce. Carrots and celery, onions ground up with the mother load of all spices and sautéed into a deliriously obscenely great experience shoveled onto grilled tilapia. Haddock, cod.
Please, do not argue. Just sprint/uber to whichever house invites you to try this sauce on the first chance you get.
I've had it every year for my entire life and it is exceptional.

Haha if if I ever had chance to visit the UK to see all of my friends here on TAS I'd learn to make this recipe as good as mom does to show everybody. I wait for it all year.

I may have outsmarted mysef. Every year, after Christmas, Sainsbury's reduce the price of their Christmas-only food to silly prices. Generally, this disappears within a couple of days instore, so is impossible to buy online. However, if you order it at those stupid prices, and it's not in stock, Sainsbury's will provide an alternative, a substitute, which can, on occasion, be something quite expensive, for which they are bound to charge the same stupid price. As an example, I ordered their Cranberry & Port Topped Pork Pie, and am receiving a 440g " ordinary" Large Melton Mowbray Pork Pie for the same price. That's two dinners, just add home-made potato salad and other stuff already in the fridge. I also ordered " Sainsbury’s ASC Scottish Salmon with Spiced Orange Glaze,Taste the Difference 750g" but there's no substitution listed on this morning's email from them so it looks like I'm actually getting it. That's a lot of salmon for one person. Good job I love salmon. Oh, the price? £4.25 reduced from £17.00. I've also scored 2 Slow Cooked Harissa & Mint Lamb Rump Joints for four quid, and a load of frozen "party food" Gyoza, Filo Prawns, Hot and Spicy prawns, mini spring rolls, etc. for £1.25 a pop. They'll liven up lunchtimes, or even do for a dinner with some nice dipping sauces. One of the few advantages of living alone is that I can eat what I like, when I like.

We had salmon en croute for Xmas Day which tasted even better cold the next day.

Chambord is rather nice. 20cl is not a very big bottle. It appears to have evaporated, completely.
