Adrain thinking about this, seriously get your self a listen to a X26 dac and sensible digital transport it will surpise you if you are traditional vinyl head its cost is £1400. I'm trying to remember where you are, Adrian. You'd be most welcome to come and listen to my X26 Pro if you're at all interested? |

Hi Martin That is a very kind of you to offer, and I would be interested if I could do a round trip in a day sensibly. I am near sunny Seaton, East Devon about 20 miles from Exeter, I can get to the M5 in 40 minutes to go North or the A303 in about the same to go East. Cost is not an issue as I have an EV and can easily do a 300 mile round trip and just top up at a Super charger if I need to for a longer journey. |

My pseudo-stepdaughter comes to see us from Exeter and it takes her about an hour and a half. Call it 2 hours for you. Easily done.

Sorry I meant R26, the X26 will kill him Martin, my fault R26 should have been my indication. This is a sensible money closer to that relaxed, organic textured sound that the vinyl believe is there god given right.
Serioulsy the R26 is where I would start to listen

Thankfully I have discovered very decent digital replay without needing to spend the earth. I don't buy into this idea that only a megabucks digital system will do and that there's a high level of complexity associated with that. Quite the opposite - if the basic building blocks are there, musical satisfaction can be had. I managed to get great audio from my Tinkerboard - and how cheap are they? Of course if you want to apply the Digital Dark Arts to it ... But as Tony has said for some people, digital just isn't their thing,

I have a good friend who lives maybe 15 miles from you, he would be happy to let you listen, then you could have two contrasting views his system is a much simplier affair than Martin's just two boxes. Would be good for you to experiance these things.

Large hands, small keyboard (well I think its small) the other half says she has to use a two handed span to type on it.
Any way a new one as of yesterday.
Reclocking I'm working on a large project regarding that could be promising.
