Qobuz for SQ, Spotify for ease of use and in car but only premium IMO. TIDAL has some good features and a nice interface but it has a question mark on SQ with some files especially MQA, however some like it. So for SQ its Qobuz.
I have used all three above, I am currently trialling Spotify Premium £9.99 for 3 months. I am torn between Qobuz and Spotify , however Spotify and TIDALare on the Tesla sound system which adds another issue, although SQ is not a big issue in a car IMO, .
Spotify works easily and well with my Sonoore microrendu, but using Qobuz or TIDAL has to be done from within Audirvana to use the microrendu, this can be frustrating sometimes as sound output does not always work and can require a microrendu reboot, I have looked into it and there are compatibility issues, it is a complex environment to manage.
I have used ROON on the MacBook with Qobuz and TIDAL which is a bit more stable but not 100%.
So Mike and others for what is worth digital streaming as above is not a great experience in some aspects IMO. I also have a RPI with HiFiBerry HAT this is in fact the most stable platform using Volumio to stream with, from Mac, iPad or iPhone.
I have considered going to a single box streaming solution but I am a bit sceptical about reliability and consistency and this involves yet more expense, its a bit of a can of worms still IMHO.

Can the streamer take wifi ? I'm already up and running with free YouTube music and Spot. Tablet or laptop talk to the Bluetooth adaptor which goes into the DAC If YouTube has the most music the streamer decision becomes more interesting doesn't it ? Some can, but wi-fi isn't the best way to go. I thought you're only running laptop via USB or Bluetooth to the DAC currently? That's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about a streamer that handles the data and tablet/laptop for control purposes only. The music never streams through these devices.

Streaming music and using an Android tablet controller for me has been remarkably reliable in use. It all just works and is mighty convenient - better than selecting and playing CDs.

I find Spotify remarkably reliable and stable - it's Volumio that can give me headaches when it updates as it sometimes loses settings.
I recommend Mike avoids Volumio if possible.

Streaming music and using an Android tablet controller for me has been remarkably reliable in use. It all just works and is mighty convenient - better than selecting and playing CDs. I think it really depends on your setup, perhaps you hit the seat spot with the gear/setup early on. I agree that the end result SQ wise can be and is generally pretty good from a listening point of view when working, but for me so far from a reliability aspect it has been rather hit and miss. I am reasonably IT techy and some of it has caused me some protracted head scratching, it is so random as to when it all works and when it does not. I have tried swapping out cables, DACs, switches, stripping everything back to bar minimum when streaming and it has made no difference . As I said the cheap and cheerful RPI/SPDIF HAT with Volumio solution is the most reliable. So I am somewhat fed up with it!

"Skull Orchard Revisited" (2012) is on Tidal (and Spotify), but not the original. Mind I did find a new copy of the original CD on worldofbooks on eBay.de and so bought it (€15) to see what it is like!

Surprised or amazed.
Moved Three Mobile router into this room to test. Three say stick it in a window, makes sense Tried window, french doors. Best was about 8Mbps download
Ok, what if I live in a very silly world that doesn't make sense ?
Moved the router onto a radiator, facing an outside brick wall closer to where a streamer would go 20Mbps download
Further into the room next to the system rack, still facing a brick wall, admittedly a couple of feet higher 25mbps
Great news but what is going on here ?

Sounds like you've found the best reception spot for the analogue carrier band.

Sounds like you've found the best reception spot for the analogue carrier band. I'll take it Wonder where else it might get better. It might be as good as you're ever likely to get already. Are you still using the dodgy old 4G router, or have you obtained something better?
