I love music and really enjoy the hobby of HI FI. I run a battery powered system, always with an eye on bang for buck improvement. I am fortunate to have like minded friends in the local area that are generous with help and advice, we get together when shifts and family allow. New to this forum but like the whole ethos.
My computer skills stink but my involvement in other forums has let me discover some great music and make some great friends---oh and improve my hi fi!!!!!

Hi Tony, welcome to TAS.
(Wondering whether we know you - you don't happen to have a pair of Spendor SP1's powered by some little amps do you?)

Aye, the very man. Had a couple of chaps across yesterday that gave me the heads up regards the forum. Delighted to to be a part. I aint too techy but love trying unconventional approaches. They enjoyed the noise a couple of mini t amps made velcroed on the back of the spendors fooled into thinking they were mono blocks- and some doubled up speaker wire split to do the business.
I have a lovely noise in my listening room but always looking to make the most of what I have.
Quite a few of the troops on here have helped me down the road,,,,seems a fine place to hang out.

I power my dac and two temple mono blocks off a car battery. Solar power does the business to a point but once a week I top the battery up with a car charger. If I unplug the lap top Im completely off the grid. Sounds pretty good to my ears and anyone else that hears it. I like my t amps.....

I like the temple mono blocks off battery gives a great sound. A friend use a similar set up with open baffles and they always sound engaging and let you into the music without any strain

Hey Tony, good to catch up the other day mate, glad you found the forum. Your System was sounding great (as usual) and always good to hear it, but visits to yours ALWAYS cost me money! But hey, hearing new music is kinda what its all about? Planning a board meeting at mine in October, Chris..your just along the road fancy nipping across the border to Glasgowshire?

Look forward to a get together...shifts allowing! Always good to get another opinion regards the sound of your system. Had a bit of a swap with speaker wires to find a balance between the two set ups we listened to.
