Yes JP, I just sold it. I bought a Belles SA-100 power amp to replace it, the first amplifier I've heard that beats the Chord for sound quality.

My Chord CPM2600 runs hot, into Isobariks
The SPM1200E also runs into Isobariks and never gets more than slightly warm

Having heard both the Chord and the Belles in Martin system I have a clear preference for the Belles but in another system it might be a different result Martin was very brave to try the Belles I remember how much he loved the amplifier

I have rather had my eye off the ball over here so missed it if you did. I managed to negotiate domestic budget permission to buy myself one in France where they are a much better price (thanks to Wonky) - but on the basis the exchange rate (then 1.42) was 1.40 or better when we finally sell our house (hoping for February). Of course, the rate promptly plunges to 1.37 But I remain hopeful

Isobariks were never a nice load. Early twin-crossover versions were around three to four ohms over a lot of the midrange I recall and there was a tweeter dip to 2.5 ohms in the tweeter output. There's a review from Hifi For Pleasure done by Colloms on this page www.mickandviv.com/Look on isobaric related reviews.. Mikes 'briks are later and benefit from the modified MDF cabinets and the associated much improved consistency of these, as well as much more consistent midrange drivers, which were smoother, together with an uprated expensive and far more sophisticated 'Four Ohm' crossover built into the stand. Thing is Mike, going 'Aktiv' with your 'briks could *possibly* have given you a far better sound for far less money - Linn's amps are very good indeed into 4 ohm loads, almost doubling the power and although I wasn't keen on the early Klout design, by the end of its eight year or so life, it was sounding excellent and apparently the original design didn't need a huge amount done to improve it for final production spec (I need confirmation here). Still may be worth considering if you find a Tune-Box, three or four late issue Klouts and a Bingo card to equalise the bass flat to 20hz or so - makes 'em sound almost as good as vintage big IMF's
