Many, many thanks to Eduardwobblechops for this cracking bit work - much appreciated. The amp in question is an Affordable Valve Company EL34 and was very good before this. Haven't got round to picking it up yet as the cars getting MOTd just now and it's driving me nuts!! before after Im quite surprised at what a substantial difference it looks! Cant wait to hear it and thanks again to Eduardowobblechops!

I assume that is going to sound better just by the amount of kit in there.
Get the old lady in as well as an unbiased judge

No bother mate, only took an hour. Don't forget it won't sound it's best until the caps have burned in. Have soak tested it for several hours to make sure all is well, bias is adjusted also.

9 Caps out and 9 caps in , in a hour ! . You should take it up professionally wobblechops , that would have taken me at least fours hours [ assuming somebody told me what to do ] and resulted in 4 burnt fingers and the inevitable pin hole burns all down the front of my favorite satin shirt .

Nine caps and the four Cathode resistors too. Ok, maybe an hour and a half..

Chris - any chance you could re-post the pics on a non-costly image hosting account?

I use ibb.co and find it so easy and fuss free. Way better than photobucket ever was

Not sure if I ever described the difference this made - it was subtle yet big. The amp seemed - hard to describe - to have more realism. I always liked valves as they seem to capture a bit more detail and emotion in well recorded music and these mods just add to that. Best I've ever had it - through the various tube rolls - was big 1950s 6n3ps,Black treasure (6ca7s I think) and hooked up to my ANKs with that speaker wire I harp on about. That was REALLY good setup like that. Also worth mentioning is the volume control is worth switching out - I've not got round to that yet but hopefully will.
I've currently got mine hooked up to Horne Shoppe horns and that's a winning combination too. A big airy soundstage that you constantly notice new things in and around.
Yeah,it's a keeper for me!

Thank you ChrisB!
Note the small blue squares - that where you bias it.
