I own Bi Polar Mirage M3Si's as my main speakers. I also have a bi-polar centre speaker ,an OM C2. I currently have the mains about 1.5 meters ahead of the centre (because they need space to breath and operate efficiently). The centre speaker is just below the TV as apparently the best place for a centre speaker is as close to the TV as possible. Now, I am wondering if the sound would improve if I moved the centre speaker forward with the main Bi-Polar speakers so that all 3 Mirage bi-polar speakers are in-line with each other? Or, should I leave it where it is, and use the processor to set the 'listening position' distances?
The Bi-Polar effect makes this exercise more challenging than forward firing speakers.
Thank you for your advice.

I have never felt the need for a centre speaker, since my system images well. However, were I to use one it would be inline with the main speakers to minimise time delay.

Thank you. Never thought about time delay but it makes perfect sense. Thank you again.

What are you driving speakers from, TV, surround sound amp, or hifi amp?
If you are using SUrround sound amp/processor then most have the ability for time delay adjustment dependent on speaker position, often done using a simple microphone plugged into it and the running a set up. Sometimes you have to enter relative speaker positions and select how many, 3, 5, 6 or 7. If you don’t have this there maybe a computer based software program out there which does similar to help surround sound set up.

Thanks Adrian.
Yes, I have the Anthem AVM 70 Processor which has ARC Genesis. I have used that to date with good results. But I am always looking at any additional possible options that may squeeze a little bit more performance from the system. I have since moved the centre speaker in-line with the mains and will re run ARC.
Thank you again.

That has a massive improvement on the timing of sub and mains¢re and in turn improves bass response. Well worth it if you haven’t yet.

Paul Klipsch was the originator of a centre speaker system. The centre speaker was wired to handle the sum/common/mono signal. Frank Sinatra had such a set up at one point. And I believe the full Hafler set up had this arrangement plus the two rear speakers.
