I use Allmusic, Discogs and Wikipedia Discogs can be variable but generally the best Allmusic, through the blizzard of ads is simpler and offers sampling usually on two thirds of the artist's output
Amazon can also be useful with releases the others can miss

Since I stream, I tend to use the metadata and reviews presented within the services. Qobuz have better recording data, including all writers and performers, loudness rating and very nice reviews of artists and albums. I can pull it all through BubbleUPnP so that makes it very easy.

Does Qobuz have the full artist's output ?
Can you post a screen shot or similar of what you have in BubbleUPnP ?

It requires scrolling down but some artists have a lot of data and a review. Catalogue? Almost everything I want, just short of a couple of albums.

Impressive detail Can you grab a list of all albums by an artist ? EG Cinematic Orchestra on AllmusicYou can drill down a bit, but not as much as Qobuz it seems

My first port of call is Google, and then usually on to Wikipedia, there's no telling where I'll end up though.

I often start with Google then click on where I really want to go, Allmusic or Disogs most of the time

I tend to use Discogs, it seems to be the more reliable, but occasionally has errors or missing albums, I have personally only had to add 4 albums in 5 years. Qobuz is not complete for each artist, I believe it just lists the albums that they have digital copy of and this is the same for Spotify, and TIDAL. Apple music I think has most available and is a huge digital library, but I do not use due to SQ issues.

Discogs as well. Have the app on phone and get notifications when an item I've been looking for is avaliable. Have ordered many used cd's from Discogs. Allmusic sometimes for album reviews.
Amazon for used cd's as well.

Not complete is not what I want I have found that www.besteveralbums.com is quite good, but suspect it may be limited to popular music, rock, soul/funk, reggae/ska and jazz (I use these terms to cover a whole host of modern genres ) in terms of how good completeness is, it does have classical on there but I doubt it covers everything.

For classical music, the Penguin guides are invaluable. Not sure if they exist online yet.

Understood They list what they have rather than a complete Discography Great for detail and useful to have already in the package I go for everything the artist has ever done in my "following rabbits down holes" way Discogs and Rateyourmusic both have albums the artist appeared on as a sideman/woman - even more rabbits

Once upon a time I bought the book Rock Record. Getting very with it I also bought the CD (which used FoxPro or dBase or FoxBase)
Never crossed my mind anyone else cared less about this sort of thing. Then along came the interweb
