Rush...for me. Found the vocals putrid and nearly paid for it with my life.

Rush...for me. Found the vocals the putrid and nearly paid for it with my life. Agreed. Can't see the attraction

And as a demonstration I will list two bands that I really cannot see why others find so good: Steely Dan Can Dull as ditchwater! Agreed. Cannot see the attraction, although a couple of Can tracks are ok, rest not so

If you don't like Rush there's always the "other" Canadian band, Mahogany Rush, with the incredible (and sadly retired onmedical grounds) Frank Marino on guitar.

Yes that more guitar nonsense Martin will dislike but Chris and me will like

Thank you, Paul. I gave it a shot. Wasn't terrible but just not for me though Rush imo, and I know I'm objectively wrong (in case there are any Londonites afoot), is like trying to ingest a pan galactic gargle blaster, not everyone can stomach it.
@jules thanks for the warning about not liking Rush in London. I'll definitely lie or try to change the subject rather than face retribution.
Though there is one other band that reminds one of Canada. Boards of Canada, a Scottiah group.
I like some of their tracks though I could see how anyone would find them heinous.

Rush...for me. Found the vocals putrid and nearly paid for it with my life. Funny - the one gig I went to with a girlfriend at the time where I felt distinctly uncomfortable was Bob Dylan. He was simply dreadful and there is no other way of saying it. Had I shown even the slightest disapproval I would have been lynched on the spot.

You'd have to pay me a lot of money to attend a Dylan concert.

Triumph? Surely you mean Spinal Tap?

Outrageous Sir! You'll be getting a 'Spinal Tap' from me very soon Paul if you continue with these highly offensive and inflammatory remarks.

I've just found a Dylan clip from the era that I went to see him. If you like this, you're from a different planet than me.

I never really got Bob I sometimes don't mind him but afraid that the best I could ever do. But then I never really got Eric Clapton either
