You already have a USB charger don't you Mike?
So all you need is the USB cable to get started and coax (or toslink) cable to your amp.

This is how kit should be. Plug in, minimum amount of work and done
Sooner or later I will compare streaming with a CD

Unless you can manage to bypass the Windows mixer, and up the audio processing priority with appropriate drivers on your PC, your CDP will win hands down. Which media player are you using?

You'll get better streaming from an Android phone correctly setup (John has published the steps somewhere). Just install Spotify and YouTube on it.

You can use Android with files or streaming services it really makes a lot of sense with YouTube music videos sound quality is surprisingly good Once Mike is ready to proceed to the next level I will go through the setup again and update the video to include Dolby atmos and best app for files

Step by step at the moment. Still getting over the surprise of it working Comparison out of interest and work in progress. Streaming with Volumio and a Pi didn't work for me so this is my 2nd bash Playing direct from the laptop. Windows media player ?

Not obvious last night. Assume you can't upgrade Bluetooth except by upgrading phone Most important to me are Allmusic, Amazon and YouTube to sample May be my intro to successful, what I want to do streaming

Playing direct from the laptop. Windows media player ? Windows don't bundle a media player any more. I recollect you being allergic to changing things, so there's every chance you have Windows Media Player. Foobar2000 would be a better choice.

It needs to be Android 9 or above Go into settings then towards bottom click about phone and then software information If 9 or above do the following Click settings Click Connections Click Bluetooth Pair device by pressing the relevant Bluetooth device Then press the gear on the right hand side and turn on LDAC Let me know if this makes sense Mike if not I do a video instruction for you If this works also let me know as a few other steps in getting the best out of LDAC which I will guide you through
