Gents, I’m looking to buy a new living room chair that has excellent lumbar / lower back support. Don’t know if any of you also suffer with back issues, but if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions it would be appreciated. The only possibility I have seen so far is one of the Stressless recliners but no way of trying one at the moment of course.

I had a Stressless in an Oslo hotel room. I’m hooked on it. Whether it works for your back Jules is hard to know. I just know I want a Stressless or Eames.

For me the biggest issue was sitting in a office all day I got a back support for the chair and made sure my computer screen was eye level. Both helped!

I'm sitting on a Stressless atm - except mine's dark green. Very cumfy, but then I don't have back issues.
THE most comfortable chair I've ever sat in was a driver's seat in a Lancia Delta 1500. Perfect support. Absolute bliss!

Thanks chaps.
Obviously I need to try a Stressless!
I might see if the dealer I know is open by appointment.
I have an Ikea office chair with an extra lumbar pad for computer work and that works fine.
But watching the TV is another matter from our sofa or armchair - they are very good quality and I got new cushions but are too deep for me to comfortably sit and get the lower back support I need.

Stressless is the one You must have sat in one of mine
Look on Ebay for 2nd hand, take a sensible punt. You will love it. - if not relist
The picture you show is the right sort of model. There are smaller, cheaper ones less comfortable. If you can wait a month or two come here

Was ok rather than wonderful I was on the case for a year or two before I found the Stressless. Head and shoulders above everything

Funny I don't remember sitting in one of yours but probably wasn't paying attention to the chair. I will happily take you up on the offer if I don't get to a local showroom.

Had a look on ebay - quite difficult to find with the Signature Base as in the pic above.
Think I'd probably prefer something new for better support.

Hadn't looked at the base. Does that allow easy turning ? Brochure makes it sound interesting
My mid 80s are still fine and great so would give a good test for you

Can't do a double-blind A/B test but am close to pulling the trigger on a Stressless.
Been recommended one by a company I know who specialises in furniture for those of us with crocked backs.
There are lots of online sales for Stressless right now, big discounts if anyone else interested!

Stressless will hug you better and Eames is a bit low and awkward to get out of,with it being low at the back,. Good height for my speakers though.

The Pash-Eames looks fantastic, but is it a recliner? Reclination is a strong feature of the Stressless for me.
