A superb Beethoven violin concerto with Soyoung Yoon, and conducted by Penderecki! - it looks like she can hardly believe the beautiful sounds are coming out of her violin! The concerto starts at 20 minutes in. What have I done I now find myself listening to more classical music On a serious note I just listened to her Sibeilus violin concerto I love her tone and phrasing on this

The wonderful soprano, Lucia Popp, gave this recital of Richard Strauss' 4 Last Songs - heart breakingly poignant as she was dying from brain cancer at the time. I bought the CD of her Four Last Songs, little knowing that she wouldn't be with us much longer

Agreed, her Sibelius is totally superb. I was going to post a YT vid of that soon!

I've posted this before, but Carpenter's footwork on the pedals is amazing.

Tried to listen in my 'try and get classical' mode. All fabulously talented musicians. Cameron's foot work insane
Not for me I'm afraid. The sound of soprano is one of the very worst for me

The coordination between hands and feet is almost beyond comprehension!

That's a very wide range of female voice, Mike. Not just classical, either.

Soprano? How do you mean Mike? Ladies who sing soprano. I thought you were only talking about the Organ vid so I didn't see the connection!

Nice balance between attack and sensitivity

Yes an excellent performance.
I do love this work (especially with orchestra) but I almost need a rest after 8 mins of gypsy 'slides'.

I think 8 mins is just about the right amount of time for something like this. I sometimes try and pull off the last movement on guitar as it is good fun to play.

Wow that's impressive John! Well there a couple of fast runs that I struggle to pull off and the harmonics are hard to get right
