I prefer the more ambient parts to the album at times it can get a bit industrial for my ears. However I still enjoy the album and will give it a solid 4

Faintly reminiscent of The War on Drugs. Their melodic sections are good, the 'industrial' bits, as John calls them, lose the flow somewhat.
Overall not bad, but I would pick and choose the tracks. 3/5.

4/5 from me. Not quite as good as my favourite album of theirs, The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place. I do like this atmospheric "post rock" sound.

Thought I'd better catch up a bit: work has been so demanding that I really have not had time to listen to much recently and when I did, I fell back on 'comfort food' as it were.
I really did want to like this album having read about it and the band and I did enjoy the soundscape, but it did not really grab my attention and I found myself looking for things to do while listening to it. There is definitely a consistent feel to the album, although I was expecting more changes given the blurb I'd read. They were there, but not enough to break up a sound and drum style rhythm that I began to find a bit tedious. I didn't hate it, but I doubt I'll play the whole album again although I'd be happy to hear the odd track on the radio now and then. A generous 3 from me I'm afraid.
