What new albums artists and bands have you discovered this year
I think the biggest surprise for me is discovering a love for Contemporary classical music and even liking some choral music
I also been listening to bands like Avariterium I like the doomy vibe. It is a good counter balance to the classical music I enjoy. I still listen to a lot of world fusion, progressive metal like Dream Theatre and Leporus and love modern guitar players like Plini

Billie Eilish, Sharon van Etten, DeLooz, Fever Ray, The Knife, Jackson Browne, Royksopp, Sofia Portanet, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Alison Mosshart, Galia Arad, Aldous Harding, Heather Nova, Anna Ternheim, Shpongle, Ozric Tentacles, Hannah Peel are just a few.
This is all due to Qobuz and chasing down artist histories.

I think that about the only album I actually got "vocal" about this year was the new Dylan. There have been many good albums, but great albums have been a very precious commodity. I did discover "Cats In Space" who I'm still enjoying, because they're fun.
A lot of my year has been spent in silence. I've always been comfortable with silence, and I get as much enjoyment from settling down to read, quietly, as I do from music. I once had a boss who was of the same mindset. The rest of the staff called our office "The Library."

If he screams when you do, does that make him a hypocrite too?

I'm going to add Dead Can Dance, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry to my list. Not because I discovered them this year (I've been listening to them for years) but because something in their creations really clicks with me and has given me a new appreciation for their music.
Has anyone else newly appreciated an artist this year?
