I'm experiencing a whoosh / air sound from my speakers when I turn the volume on the amp up. I can really hear it when volume up quarter way.
Any ideas what causes this and what I need to do ?

Dirty potentiometer tracks or possibly DC on the preamp outputs.
For the former, turn the amp off and work the volume from lowest to highest about 20 times. It should be self-cleaning. If that doesn't do it, you'll have to open it up and spray track cleaner into it from the back.

You want to be very careful of course if it's DC on the outputs - could do nasty things to the speakers.

Just to update. Managed to get the amp off to be looked over - Had some modern Fets dropped in and a service. Noise now greatly reduced and all back in time for Christmas, so been a very happy bunny, getting through the albums - best Christmas pressie .....
