Hi, I’m Mike. I love most types of music and listen to my collection whenever time allows. I’m not a box swapper, I upgrade every Preston Guild, the last of which left me with the kit listed below. I designated 2014 ‘Classical year’ with the aim of expanding my collection of classical music. I’ve always loved vinyl and fought against buying CDs for years, but I have to say my latest kit has done a great deal to change that. So much so I’m torn which to spend my money on these days, CDs are very convenient.

Mike, I mainly buy vinyl if that was how the album was originally released, usually pre-digital if pos I've not had the problems some folk seem to have with ebay, probably bought >50 only had one bad one (slight warp)Have to say I've been buying my classical on CDs.

Garrard 401, 12 inch Jelco SA – 750, Nagaoka MP-200, Yannis Tome 423.5 Phono Silver Litz tonearm cable, XTZ A100 D3, Azur 650C CDP with Yannis Tome 223.5 Connect-Litz cables, Speakers - B&W DM2, Graham Slee Novo headphone amp, Sennheiser HD650
I loaded this into my sig. seems some can't see it? The only things I kept from the old set up were the Novo and the 650s. The 401 was a present for my 60th from SWMBO. I bought the 650c for the few CDs I had at the time, but when I got the XTZ the pairing blew me away and the CD collection is now at about 300.
Not many people can say they've seen four Preston guilds.

Yeah sorry that's not clear, the only things not bought in 2012 were the DM2s, they came in last year, when I do upgrade it's the full monty. I hope to see the next one but I doubt I'll upgrading then, it'll probably be downloaded straight into your brain by then.

Vinyl is the one if you can get it. I've been ok with Ebay too, Discogs also helpful The one that throws me is Ry Cooder's Bop til you drop - a fantastic album so well made - the first digital album

Well! here I am again, as you can see by the first post on here I joined on Aug. 22 last year having read about it on AOS. Before i'd even saved the home page to my bookmarks my PC died (faulty SS drive) by the time I replaced it, not only could I not remember the name,(it's my age) I couldn't find the original post on AOS. Just reading the raspberry Pi thread and bingo this place gets a mention and sorted.

It's great that you found us again. The thread on AoS was deleted as part of a rather petty retaliation for being someone being banned here for breaking our rules. Oh well, onwards and upwards!
