I could never justify paying for Prime. Half the content demands more payment again and the range is simply not good enough.
Going with adverts would just score an even greater win for Netflix.

We have Prime as madam insists she needs it for cheap/er fast deliveries Any excuse for me to listen to music if I get the chance rather than watch TV

They're currently monetizing like there's no tomorrow. Same day/overnight delivery, which was free to Prime members is now being charges at £1.99 on orders below £20.00

I would hesitate to say I couldn't live without it, but it's extremely useful for someone like me who can't get to the shops without paying exorbitant cab fares, and then taking a chance that I can actually get what I want in Sevenoaks. I do my grocery shop online with Sainsbury's and have a delivery pass, and along with eBay those three account for 95% of my shopping.

Amazon Business (which I brought to the school and which is now very popular with departments) have gone the other way and made all our deliveries free.

I think I'm roughly using Prime 70% deliveries and 30% video. I do struggle to find things I want to watch that are free. There's a limit to how far I'm prepared to supplement their deep coffers ...

I only have Prime because Ruth pays for it. We have the reverse deal for Netflix.
My viewing of Prime versus Netflix is 25% : 75%

Cynical marketing Drug dealer stylie - even if spread over a few years
We expect things to be in the same area price wise for most things The more successful or confident Amazon get the more they think they can get away with
Expect more price rises

Few years back, pre Covid I went for my flu jab to my local surgery Think I saw one or maybe two other punters. Possibly none. Difficult to grasp it all as there were around 6 staff members in the building ushering me into the surgery, jab and out the back. So fast I was in and out in around 1 or 2 minutes
Today we went for our flu jab. 8-11am local surgery, turn up and be jabbed Arriving around 10.20 ish we found a huge queue of what must have been hundreds I assume up to the surgery doors, along the building out of the car park along the road the surgery is on, around the corner and along the next road up to where we stopped, turned around and came back home

Do people really use the word "chortled" in conversations? I hope not. So far I've lucked out and never heard it uttered outloud.

Talking about something funny, we might say "oh, how we chortled over that one".

Ouch. If I heard that in a conversation I'd have to excuse myself and go to the refreshments table for a drink and to collect my thoughts.

Amazon Business (which I brought to the school and which is now very popular with departments) have gone the other way and made all our deliveries free. I keep getting messages from Amazon, urging me to open a business account, and telling me how much I could have saved over the last 12 months. I have no idea why. Does everyone get them? By the way, don't forget that Netflix introduced their ad-supported service over a year ago.

Ouch. If I heard that in a conversation I'd have to excuse myself and go to the refreshments table for a drink and to collect my thoughts. Think of it as a somewhat old-fashioned (or sometimes pretentious) version of "chuckled".
