Adrian, next time I visit for a hifi purchase, if I'm overstaying my welcome all you have to do is put on this album and I will be reminded of an urgent engagement elsewhere! I doubt I have much audio equipment that would be of interest to you Jerry, if I recall you are not that enamoured with valve amps, and my digital array is somewhat poor in comparison to yours. I suppose you might like some proper speakers, rather than those big Daleks you have By the way I have plenty of Prog Rock to make you run screaming. I just realised whilst listening to Ravel's Bolero, that most of those that don't Like St Germain will probably form the Bolero too repetitive and tedious as well.

I love valve amps! Current fave is a Primaluna Prologue 5 power amp. Wonderful thing.
Prog rock is fine, it's Lounge Lizard Jazz that makes me run from the room.

One of my favourite albums lately is 'The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull' by Earth and that is so repetitive, you barely even notice when you get to the next track! So repetition is fine as a concept, but the thing being repeated must be engaging in some way. Otherwise, it begins to grate more and more.

Agreed on repetition
Some tracks work for me some do not
Seeing Roxy Music live one or three decades ago
Love is the drug started and went on - and on - and on, boring, must finish soon, and on, bloody hell, they must stop soon...
The beat goes on and gets into the head and blow me down I'm beginning to like it, love it. Brilliant, after who knows how long Shame when it stopped

A comely wench, certainly. But I do need to press the mute button.

I suspect you would like the first album 'Boulevard' and the most recent just called 'St Germain' (2015), this is interesting as it features musicians, instruments and musical styles from Mali and possibly other African countries, some reviews consider it his best.

Tourist hits the spot more than the others I've heard so far.

Not something I would put on to listen to. The sameness is tediousness supreme.
Maybe put it on to not listen to. Will try it again at some point. Certainly times it would be good in the background...

I have "Tourist" and "Boulevard" but not played them for many years. Boulevard has good low bass pictures rattling in my living room. I thought Tourist was a good attempt at fusion of house and Jazz, one of the few new albums I got in the 2000-ies. I really like the St Germain 2015 album so thanks for the recommendation. I am more into African music nowadays so enjoyed the fusion. The song "Voila" has hints of Ali Farka Toure's guitar work.

Gorgeous find here. On a Spotify massive shuffle play when 'Sure Thing' comes on I need to look down to check what it is. Stunning.

Really a fine choice here. Maybe my favorite album choice yet.
Montego Bay Spleen, Rose Rouge and Sure Thing have captivated me for months.

This has been the most successful Album Choice for me. I'm stuck playing Spotify on shuffle for a time and occasionally 'Montego Bay Spleen' or 'Sure Thing' come on and it's sublime. Take the little moment there in Montego Bay Spleen at 2:41 for example. Just a cool little touch. And the outro.
His album 'Boulevard' sounds excellent as well though I'm not so familiar with it.
Is anybody familiar with Erik Truffaz? I use to listen to him quite a bit hoping to find something as cool as St. Germaine. This track is on more than one album but I'd highly recommend Erik Truffaz - The Dawn album

Is anybody familiar with Erik Truffaz? Yup, playing him right now actually . . . Sundays for me is Jazz day, although that seems to be creeping over to other days more and more of late

Having liked this album, I'm trying Boulevard again. Seems to be gelling with me better this time.
