I have just tried listening to this album, and I do have some Leonard Cohen albums myself, but this one just did not do it for me! I found each song strangely disturbing, both musically and lyrically, perhaps that was the intention. I felt like leaving the room screaming at some points, and had to resort to the move onto to next track button on several occasion as it all became just too much. Maybe I was not in the right mood to hear it at the time, whatever that me. Sorry but that is it from me.

Sorry Martin but I just could not get into it, I found it maybe too dour, and odd musically at points.

l don't mind a bit of Cohen and own a few albums.
I have to admit part of the reason is probably the way his voice comes over via my speakers.
I can't tolerate him in big doses, though. I will just pick choice tracks from the songs I know.
He did write some decent lyrics. From The Future, which is also a decent track.
Just heard a few tracks from this album Martin will do some more in a couple of hours. Not sure it is going to rank highly in my estimation so far though.

OK nope it is basically too wet, soppy and slow for me. No likey ultimately but it is quality for SQ and for material of this type.
When it seems he has something to say I like him, especially when the accompaniment is lively and up front.
Then again he is gone. Bless him a lot of people did like him in his heyday.

Aware of Mr.Cohen from many years ago. Never quite 'got' him
Tried again
Same with this album. Not that keen on his voice, never was
