Very rare.
You play an album and wonder how they made it so well.
Could be variety of things to stop you in mid thought. Usually it is the full range of everything presented so incredibly well.
Probably needs a good system, but maybe not. What do you think ?
James Taylor - Hourglass popped into my playlist today and I stopped and listened in amazement at the amount of detail coming out of the speakers
How does it sound on your system ?
What others can you speak of ? (Not favourite or wonderful albums but the ones where some technical wizards worked magic)
CD playing on a TAD D-1000 into TD 2500 and TD E1s

Hourglass is excellent.
Another technically well put together album is Dire Straits' final one, On Every Street.
Try You and Your Friend, it's quite outstanding and a superb song, too.

Many of the Steely Dan albums, but especially Gaucho.
That recording is a work of art for technical quality.

Dire Straits' final album On Every Street is a little-acknowledged gem. Fantastically accomplished recording and some of their best songs.
Try You and Your Friend for two different guitars complementing each other in some juicy playing that sounds exactly like two Mark Knopflers.

On every street - You and your friend is nice. Some of the others meh🙂.
Joan As Policewoman okay.
Some are easy cos they are not so complicated. As things get complicated the difficulty level of both recording/mastering and the hifi's capability at resolving the signal gets more difficult.
Try Tori Amos, Boys for Pele - Caught a lite Sneeze. I've had systems (pre horn) that made this sound truly awful. Done right, it's amazing.
One I'm enjoying at the moment is Eagles - Unplugged. Might come up as MTV unplugged. That version of Hotel California!
Others Nils Loftgren - Acousic live. Keith Don't Go - falls into the simpler category I mentioned, but should blow you away!
