Nice choice - that's my favourite Kinks album, I think.

Another surprisingly tricky year. Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, The Bonzo's, Moody Blues and Thelonius Monk as well as Miles Davis (although not at his best I think) and Mr Hendrix of course. And how can we forget St Pepper? A difficult choice and Julie London is another good one. "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is a great favourite of mine, but at the time I would have probably chosen something from the Monkeys (having been brain-washed by my sister). Today it might be the Thelonius Monk album. "Chelsea Girl" by Nico later became a big favourite, but I am going to pick an album that I have not played for a long, long time and that is "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie.

I must play Animals tonight. Some of the Punk boys would love some of the lyrics on that album.

Hmm, it's one of these for me...
The Doors - s/t
Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced
Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
...and the winner is Are You Experienced.

....and that is "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie. Somehow, I just knew it was you sitting over there by the 'Group W' bench, playing with the pencils!

Your first three would be in my top five Martin. If it were just between them, I simply wouldn't be able to decide.

An easy choice for me, this one. It has to be Love - 'Forever Changes' for me. Despite all of the other fantastic albums from '67 that played a big part in my life (and there are many), this is the one, no question.

OK, so now we're going forwards 20 years to 1987. Here's a link to the Wiki page for 1987 in Music: 1987When you get there, you'll see there's a list of the major album releases of that year. Don't forget to check out the list at the end of albums that they don't know the month of release. Which is the best album on the lists?

Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat Ronstadt, Harris, Parton - Trio U2 - The Joshua Tree Suzanne Vega - Solitude Standing Deacon Blue - Raintown Roger Waters - Radio KAOS Marianne Faithfull - Strange Weather Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason Robbie Robertson - s/t
And the winner is... Roger Waters.

Springsteen, Floyd, Dolly Lou Ronstadt, The late, great, Warren Zevon, Gary Moore, Steve Earle, there are jewels among the dross, and I could have picked any one of those, and a few more besides, but I'm going with the excellent Raintown, by Deacon Blue.
