For me, I wouldn't worry about it, unless you have a lot of files at 24/176 or 24/192 (or above). The AP2 does take up 24/192, but I don't exploit this feature much myself. Perhaps if your DAC prefers files that have upsampled then I can imagine it being more desirable.

The last time I looked in the mirror I wasn't a bat anyway.

You can also make services like Qobuz limit to 24/96 maximum if required.

Then there is the issue of what cable to use with the Audiophilleo.
Some said The Mad Scientist USB was a good one.

Lots of good USB cables around - I use a Wireworld Starlight.

I was loaned a Blue Jeans USB cable and can attest to its excellent performance for not a lot of money.

It's worth noting that one of the things that you're paying for with hifi USB cables is better isolation of the 5v power line. But if you get the AQVOX PSU you won't be using the USB 5v anyway, so could try a more straightforward cable and break off the 5v pin in the USB A connector - no power line to isolate then.

Bugger. Asked for a price drop. He did so, but I was working and missed out.
Will happily continue with the Halide Bridge then. Although looking for a power supply for it.

It's certainly worth adding the AQVOX PSU to the Halide Bridge, it takes another significant step up then. I've also added a Wired4Sound Recovery re-clocker to the digital chain and that was good, too. Seems to work well with the Halide Bridge. I'm interested in the Aqvox PSU to Halide Bridge setup you have Jerry. Have my Halide Bridge going from Macbook to SEG Dac.
