having the good lady 'working at home' can be a challenge.  Cleaned loads of windows, fixed some broken stuff I had kept putting off, resurrected the bikes, done other useful stuff. Hopefully she stops working from home soon, not sure I can manage this busy-ness for too long.  Have succumbed to another preamp and waiting for some geezer to make his mind up on a RCM. |

Remote support in my job has dried up as the teachers are all now on holiday. I think I'll be 'supporting' them by jetwashing my car later |

I dusted off my bicycle today, pumped up the tyres, lubed the gears and learned how to ride the damned thing again. It's been a few years. Enjoyed a cycle down the lane for my exercise. I hadn't accounted for the steepness of the return journey, though. Needed gear 2/1 and lots of pedalling.
Now I'm properly knackered.

Before 'this' all started we had 20 sleepers delivered.
Been making 4 raised beds for Marie on her existing veggie plots.
We've gravelled between them, so now I don't have to get the big mower around them.
Next up is barrowing round 3m³ of finest growing soil to fill up the beds!
Never a dull moment..
I'm also hitting TouchTennis (a form of adult mini tennis) against a plywood wall I've knocked up. 15 degree angle and slightly curved of course.
45min a day focusing on footwork. Hitting around 1350 balls a session is great exercise..

They certainly need a phased release, or the NHS will just risk getting overwhelmed again.
Makes sense to release those first who will get the economy going again, and to carry on protecting the moxt vulnerable in the hope that treatments come along allowing them to be safely released from isolation.

I don't see how phased release will work in practice. How could it be policed?
By the way, I have a letter from my employer stating that I'm an essential worker. I've been into work only once to repair a server that had gone down.
The letter has come from our legal counsel. How it would stand the test of being presented is anyone's guess.

Formal certification following testing to have had the virus and therefore be immune and not contagious, and to be within the release criteria. The police given powers to enforce it, with fairly severe penalties for contravention - we've seen how a single source can wreak havoc in terms of widespread contagion, that can't be allowed to happen too much or it will take forever to achieve full release from isolation. |

I reckon that would stand. The burden would be on the police to prove it was not a valid reason.. They could in theory detain you (esp if you gobbed on them 😀) whilst they checked it out. |
