Have now sourced a mat so I've edited that out of the OP to reflect that.

Branko is the most charmless individual I've ever tried to deal with. Waste of space.

Excellent job Mike. Please keep us posted on what happens next! Will do, talking to Phonomac later to discuss plinth, I've removed my Fidelity arm from sale as I think I'll just have to fit that to the deck as I can't see me selling it at asking price and I'd need to spend at least that amount to replace it with one of Phonomacs AT-1010s. I've never heard one so I think I'll stick with what I've got, plus there are a few SP10s with the AT arm fitted and I want mine to look different especially if I go down the same Panzerholz plinth that most seem to use, my only concern is the 'look' of a black arm on a black plinth with silver motor unit, I think it would suit a silver arm better. Now this wouldn't normally be an issue if I swapped arms at a later date, however the Panzer Plinth doesn't come with an armboard and the hole for the arm is predrilled so it will only fit the Fidelity arm, therefore in order to try another arm, I'd need another plinth with practically zero chance of selling the Fidelity fit one. I have another idea that I'm going to run past Phonomac today and see if it's do-able in the future.

I reckon it will be great with the arm you have.

The FR and the AT are both great arms. I doubt you'd suffer with either.

Well, having spoken to Angus regarding a Panzerholz plinth he's pretty sure I can use the Fidelity arm AND he'll pre drill holes to take one of his modified AT-1010 arms and fit plugs to hide them. If I did go the AT arm route then it should fit in the existing hole for the Fidelity arm and then be fixed as normal.
I suggested this move to Angus and he thinks it's do-able and at least would give me two arm options and it saves having to get rid of the plinth and buy a new one IF I did move to the AT arm. Mind you I'm thinking that might not be feasible in the current climate and lack of cash/sales around at the moment, so I've deleted the Fidelity sale thread.
Hopefully the plugs on the holes will barely be seen.

Well, then mikeyb, how is this project working out? I would love it if you could start a new thread telling us how you got on. We need to see more pictures! This place has been missing out on the analogue juiciness for quite some time.
