Just had our Tesco delivery. Way better than I thought it would be
No bread, disappeared, no Courgettes and no alternative to Heinz baked beans (?)
6 packs of Shredded Wheat as it was still 50% off
Driver told me he was laid off work on Friday as they had nothing to deliver. Their way around that was to close the 24 hour store at night so that the shelves the delivery service picks from had products.
So far so good ......

We tried to arrange a delivery (as we do every weekend with Sainsbury's) for Saturday and nothing is available. We looked and there are no available slots for the next 8 weeks. Following that, we looked at available slots with Tesco, Asda and Ocado and again no slots available this weekend or the coming weeks. Being an at risk person, that means that I, or my wife/son have to go to the Supermarket to get food or rely on take away. Again shows the world at present to be so totally selfish! I've got exactly the same problem, Paul. My mum (96) and me both pay to have our groceries delivered and there are no slots. Thankfully I was smart enough to do my shop for this weekend, last weekend, and while I was at it I "reserved" a slot for mum by putting a dummy order in that I can change when I do her actual shop. My only choice after that is to do 2 shops per week, one for her and for one me which will cost me £25-30 in total for cab fares and my knees will then be buggered until the following week. The other problem is that if my knees revert to their previous state I won't be able to get up and down stairs, let alone to the shops, and I don't know what will happen then.

From the limited amount I have seen there are very different waiting times for deliveries from store to store - try a few different ones. Morrisons is not bad in my area - 28 March for first slots.

Could well be Tesco is looked down upon around here as we are more of a Waitrose area Having tried them all years ago Tesco is quite definitely the best Waitrose was, at least then the worst

If it was all years ago it might be worth trying Waitrose again - we have no issues beyond an occasional substitution that I'm not going to worry about ...

From memory we didn't like their less than fresh fruit and veg or their bread items
Tesco does it for us, especially if they have slots and continue their good work

Can't remember ever having a similar issue with Waitrose online or in store for that matter.

Yay! I've managed to get a slot after signing up to Tesco, for two weeks this coming Saturday. The delivery charge is still cheaper than cab fares.

If you're lucky you'll be able to order some hair colouring and an unusual battery that doesn't fit anything any more.

We did our weekly shop at Sainsbury's / Aldi.
No problem with fresh food. Only thing missing completely was loo paper, flour, some tinned stuff and uht milk.
Happily we didn't need any of those..
BTW. Don't be tempted to put kitchen paper down the loo! It's much more robust than toilet paper. Could well block your plumbing and won't breakdown at the water treatment end.. You can tell what's coming next can't you...
Virus by air, bacteria backing up by pipe 🥴

I signed up for a Tesco special deal delivery included Tuesday-Thursday Works out around £2 or £3 each delivery with the odd freebie delivery if we want a 2nd

My local chemist has not been able to get hand sanitizing products from their supplier for some time now. But my wife managed to find two big bottles and two small bottles.

Sainsbury appear to be on the ball - <Supermarket chain Sainsbury's already had a two-item limit on its most popular goods, including toilet paper, soap and long-life milk. From 23 March, it said disabled customers and those over 70 will be given priority for online delivery slots.> Interesting article here on response to panic buying - www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51941987
