I tried to panic buy Shredded Wheat
- because it was 50% off Shreddies substituted My world has been rocked
The beginning of the great Shredded wheat shortage ? or maybe Tesco underestimated 50% off and long shelf life being attractive to punters .....

Luckily I don't eat breakfast cereal Mike, haven't done for many years, so the great 2020 Shredded Wheat rush has passed me by What amuses me is that the shelves have been cleared of soap (hard and liquid,) which begs the question - didn't people wash their hands before this? That's something I've always been a bit anal about, I can't eat a meal without first washing my hands.

Prudent tho to ensure enough comestibles in the house to see ones household through 14 days of self isolation should it come to that.

Life without Special K Red Berries for breakfast would be too painful to digest.

Tried Shreddies today. Seemed rather nice. Later on I tried a few raw, then Shredded Wheat Not quite the same I can taste the 4% sugar in the Shreddies. Last packet of them then.
Now for the Shredded Wheat quest - at 50% off of course

I have to rely on Sainsbury's delivering my groceries weekly. If they ain't got it, I don't get it. I've got a pack of 48 Weetabix though.

I need to buy a bottle of milk. Should I panic buy 200? Cut out the middle-man. Buy a cow. Worried about bread availability? You need a field of wheat (preferably sans Theresa May running through it).

Ditto with Mr.Tesco We found them the best. Surprisingly Waitrose the worst We found Tesco to be terrible in this area. They were continually late, hardly ever had all of the things we had ordered and on 3 occasions provided things that were out of date on the day of delivery or within a day or two. As a result we moved to Sainsbury's and have been very happy with them.

Read up on their logistics years ago when they overhauled Sainsburys on turnover Usually early and often phone to ask, great drivers. Rare substitutions If close to the date they often credit it back and I still have the item

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but I have more (unopened) bottles of whisky than toilet rolls!

I'm quite excited about tomorrow. I know what I've ordered from Sainsbury's but f*ck knows what they'll actually deliver.
In light of recent of panic buying UK supermarkets have introduced purchase limits.
Asda: 2 hand sanitisers, 24 toilet rolls max. Tesco: 1 Hand sanitiser, 18 toilet rolls & 2kg rice. Co-op: 12 rolls toilet paper, 1Kg rice. Sainsbury's: 12 rolls toilet paper, 1kg dry pasta. Aldi: 2 Trumpets, 1 diving suit & a MIG welder.

I have to do a stock check to find out exactly what my current stock holding is. But it's enough to feed an army if nobody asks for seconds. I am a bit low on prawns though. And I have to check that the bread maker is still in working order. That reminds me to charge up the batteries in the torch.

I'm OK for a diving suit, got 2 actually and the MIG welder - can't play the Trumpet, so I think I'm sorted for now.
