Will a pussers grip do David?
Got this one, I tried it in front of the speakers but it made things worse - so should it go, above, below or behind them?

The difference between Brits and Americans.
We stockpile bog rolls. They stockpile bullets.

For anyone who thinks that current affairs have no place on a hifi forum... Please feel free to ignore this type of thread, and perhaps post something interesting about hifi instead.

Er, how about, I think my streamer has a virus?! Interesting question/point. Can a streamer get a virus (not Corona obviously!), because they are ultimately computers, and if they did get a virus what would that mean?

It's highly unlikely, Paul. Most streaming software appears to be Linux-based and there just aren't that many common Linux viruses compared to Windoze etc. Added to that you're not actually connected to the wild and woolly internet even when streaming from somewhere like Spotify. You're not downloading anything that's kept on your streamer in the way that you do with, say, a PC. There's no email, no downloading of programs other than the one you're using, and so on. Apart from that, what would a virus do? There's no financial information for it so harvest, no collections of passwords, etc. There are no incentives for people to actually write viruses for specific streaming software.

That's the fella. It worked a treat: I'm not even slightly worried about that virus now!

So you panic buy some hand sanitizer, then there is none left for others who then get the virus and pass it on to you.
Sums it all up.

The daft thing is, hand sanitiser needs to be at least 60% alcohol to be of any use, so most of the stuff that people are panic-buying is next to useless anyway. You're better off with soap and water. What's worrying is that the "good" sanitiser is now being stolen from hospitals and doctors' surgeries.

Yes, people are still confusing hand sanitiser with soap. Soap does the job when you're washing your hands with water. You only need sanitiser when you don't have water.
We've had bottles of sanitiser go missing at work. It beggars belief.
On another subject, we had no trouble buying loo rolls yesterday. I guess people have moved on to stockpiling something else.
