It would be a match made in heaven Jerry. Let me know if u want it before I advertise it, I can't be bothered faffing around with more A/B testing etc Yes, please. I've just done an A/B on my mobile and trusty B&O H6 cans, well, to use a well worn cliche, it's a night and day improvement. Weird - must be kit dependent. Not tried one on my mobile before - wow. So having one dedicated to my mobile makes sense. Anyway, please remind me by PM of payment details - Paypal may be best for me if that's OK.

I should be able to report back on the Headspace tomorrow. It had better be good as I’ve ordered one! C'mon Clive, let us know what you think of it ... Is there going to be another on its way to Jerry Towers??

It had better be good as I’ve ordered one! C'mon Clive, let us know what you think of it ... Is there going to be another on its way to Jerry Towers?? Ok...ok, you've forced me into trying it out. I had been focused on mixing Tergitol and playing with ultrasonics. I've just run a few tracks from the streamer. The gizmo works for me. Maybe if you're a long-term phones user you'll be so used to certain sound effects that you don't mind or notice them. I've not been a phones user for many years aside from on trains and in hotels using in-ear buds with my phone. What I don't appreciate with "proper" headphones is the over-done left/right effects - I feel as if I have Extropia, it just doesn't, seem natural. Also I'm unduly sensitive to the central image (ie vocals) needing to being..well...central. The Headspace gizmo really does fix these effects for me. Naturally not all music is troublesome but quite a lot of modern music is. Mind you I often find I prefer mono for jazz (via speakers) as it seems more like real music vs sound effects trying too hard to impress. I'm pleased Jerry mentioned the Headspace and no he's not getting mine for his 7th one!

Do you ever use headphones direct from your mobile phone, Clive? - I found the improvement there quite remarkable - like having a pukka headphone amp! More dynamic and vivid (although the volume must be the same, I guess, it sounds louder somehow).

I can pretty much set my phone's DAC to sound like a Headspace. However, I prefer a slightly different setting with no 'quasi-surround' effects.

I'll try it later today whilst imprisoned.

With the Philips headphones the volume from my phone output is slightly low, with Headspace it instead sounds just loud enough and weirdly it sounds MORE spacious but not Exotropic or “quasi-surround” to use Martin’s description.

Could there be more going on with using the Headspace with a mobile than just the crossfeed trick? It sounds to me much more of a game-changer - maybe a better impedance match somehow?

Good grief, I should have kept quiet - the Headspace is now heralding the Second Coming!!

Good grief, I should have kept quiet - the Headspace is now heralding the Second Coming!! And so long after Easter too. The improvement with the mobile is good but less important to me. The improvement in my two systems with headphone capability is to a lesser degree than with the phone but it's the more important change for the way I listen to music. I wonder Julian whether you listen to phones a lot more than I so you've been assimilated over time. Spooky.
