VGC and PWO (perfect working order) The original earcups have perished and been replaced with my favourite stand-ins - not only are they much more cumfy than the originals but they sound a lot better, too! -- if you don't like them, feel free to buy some others! The price on this pair has been set accordingly. £50 UK del.

Would you say that the Philips headphones are better than my fostex Jerry ? I think those Fostex are really good. I enjoyed mine for quite a while. The Philips are different - more open and spacious. the Philips are probably less taut and focussed, though. But we all hear things differently. What more (or less) do you want compared to the Fostex? Maybe you should just try modding them? ... www.headphonesty.com/2019/07/how-to-mod-the-fostex-t50rp-mk3/

Thanks for the link Jerry I found it really interesting mate, I did play around with different earpads but found that it improved the bass response a little but at a cost of the high end and that's the main reason I bought them from you, as to what i'm looking for is something like the 600's you sent me but on a price level I can reach so any more suggestions will be very welcome

Does anyone have an idea about how those gizmos work and what's in them? They certainly don't reveal any of its workings on their website ...
I might get one for my son as they are said to be good for gaming too.

I just ordered one, you've peaked my interest mate, i'll let you know what I think in about a weeks time I just received my The Bard's Headspace by Sonneteer gizmo and i'm damned it does sound more like your listening to speakers and it seems to tone things down a bit imho,i don't know what is in it but it also seems to filter some of the unwanted sound out the cleans up the signal ,just my 2 cents worth. Thanks Jerry for telling me about this gizmo Happy listening

I have bought one of the Bard Headspace and 'discovered' what is inside it Before I get to that can I ask Jerry just what effect this has on the phones image. I don't hear much if any difference. However I am thinking that the amount of change could be rather dependent on the output impedance of your headphone amplifier, if very low I think the cross coupling will be minimal to nil. There is a series capacitor/resistor between L and R hot, of surprisingly low/high values respectively. 4n7 + 57Kohm

Before I get to that can I ask Jerry just what effect this has on the phones image. I don't hear much if any difference. it's hard to describe, but I find it easy to hear. First impression was simply "ooo, hey, that's nice". it kind of opens up the sound, while still in my head it's somehow less bounded, freer. Without it the sound seems a bit cramped and constrained. It just expands the volume the music exists in. And it seems to add a touch of extra lucidity as well. I've not noticed any downsides. I'd not willingly give them up!
