Hello Audio Standard, Thanks for having this forum, it looks pretty lively. I am a beginner using a chromecast to stream Tidal through an Onkyo receiver to a pair of bookshelf Elac Debut 2.0 speakers. Eventually would like to build my own library and play off my own network player too. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to TAS. Those Elac speakers are excellent and I’ve heard good things about the Chromecast as a streamer.

The Elacs are capable of a performance way above their price point. The floorstanders in the range are giant killers.

Hello and welcome to TAS! Which part of California are you from? We have at least one member using Chromecast with streaming. Thanks for the welcome! I am from the non-glamorous City of Sacramento. Only one other member with a chromecast audio? Don’t know what to make of that. 🎼

Thanks for the welcome posts! This is a UK forum? I wondered. Fortunately I am a anglo-phile (one who loves all things UK). Never been there though. Love your TV shows and I am a big Winston fan (I heard that Winston is way more appreciated outside the UK than inside). Being an anglophile I am a Beatles fan first then I am a basic pop music person who also likes Def Leppard, Journey, Van Morrison, Queen, Red Hot Chile Poopers ( . But I really want to expand my interest. I love the internet radio station Radio Paradise (out of California). Most of the music they play I haven’t heard before and 99.9% of the time I love the music so I have been listening to the radio a lot lately. I am not affiliated with Radio Paradise but I believe its unique in that it is listener supported and its playlist are created by people not computers. My Elacs seem solid but I definitely need floor stands for them. I am interested in changing the Onkyo/Chromecast set up with something else once I figure out what direction I would like to go and if I end up being mostly a streamer or do I want my own music library. So I look forward to learning from your forum. Nice to meet you’all!

We're mostly UK based but we use the US ProBoards forum software and welcome members from all over the world. If you like music, you'll fit right in!
I listen to Radio Paradise every single day. Wonderful station that has introduced me to much new music.
Never been to Sacramento, the nearest I've visited is LA and San Diego.

I drove right through Sacramento on the 80 a couple of years ago but didn't stop!

I'm another fan (and supporter) of Radio Paradise and have found several new-to-me artists from there. Great model.

Take a look in album choice to expand your music listening, as well as hearing old favourites.
British and American music and musicians for me in the main

Yet another Radio Paradise fan here. I (Like Martin) use an Asus Tinker Board streamer with Volumio software and all four different streams (Main, Mellow, Rock, and Eclectic) are available at FLAC quality, via the Volumio interface.

I grew up in the Silicon Valley (San Jose) and probably should have never left. Sacramento is much more affordable though.

The only thing you need to remember is to not let MikeMusic anywhere near your kit, or it WILL go wrong.
