The general streams sound extremely good, but there is definitely volume levelling DSP going on. Interesting! I may raise this with them, although I doubt it would change their strategy. I'll do it too!

So Qobuz support got back to me about the playlist renaming problems. Their advice was to uninstall and reinstall the android app.
After uninstalling, I opening the Google playstore and searched for Qobuz. No app to be found!😂 Confirmed on another account / phone, nope app not there. All competitor apps are there.
You could not make it up!
Fortunately I also have Qobuz installed on the device I use in the music room!

Checked every few hours, and by this evening Qobuz was back in the Google playstore 👍 The revision number has indeed been stepped one to
5.11.0.3.
The problem of the text you want to edit in the playlist rename function NOT being visible, as you try to guess what your fat fingers and autocorrect cook up for you, persists however!

Thanks - I'll download the new Qobuz on my tablet and phone.
It doesn't affect the big rig, which uses Volumio.

Speaking to a French chap recently, Qobuz is pronounced "ko-booz".
That is all.

I'm finding a few tracks, well, more and more are mysteriously not available, they make the playlists unplayable. Yes, you can go on the Web Player and delete them, get the play list to work again - what a pain! Then there's the case of a track; White Stripes - Cold Cold Night. Made not available. Playlist would not play. Track greyed out on the Web browser. I removed it. Then looked at the album via search and guess what - it's there again. So I re-added it. Seems ok now! Volumio and the Qobuz app could not see it during a search and the app could not remove the track from the playlist. Perhaps it is just the links getting messed up? Then there's there case of several tracks on one album showing up on the App as Sample (in blue), but when you select them they are unplayable. On Volumio and on the Web Player they are there as 30 sec, yes you've guessed it samples! They are greyed out, but play 30 secs. Try Unreleased Art Pepper, play.qobuz.com/album/znzmpo4eli2baWhat's going on with Qobuz? I feel more Tweets coming

I was trying to listen to the first two London Grammar albums and found them both in hi-res for the first time. Great, I thought!
Nope, won't play. Other tracks are giving me the 30s version, which is annoying.
Come on, Qobuz, you are the best sounding streaming service so stop mucking about!

Interesting to compare Spotify and Qobuz
Have a listen to Eminence Front from the It's Hard album by The Who. Turn it up a bit, recorded old school 🙂
Compare the rolling ba-bada-ba-ba organ. It's hardly audible on the Spotify track! Very prominent on Qobuz. I know which I prefer.

Have taken the Eminence Front (The Who) challenge.
Try Trick of the light (Who are you album - The Who), first on Qobuz and then on Spotify and let me know which you prefer and why.

To be fair, both London Grammar albums are now in hi-res and sound wonderful.

For me it's the 8 string bass of John Entwistle and the vocals! Massive central drive of the track should be the bass. It just isn't on Qobuz hi-res! Also the vocals are annoyingly shrill and brittle on Q. It was so bad, I had to try it on Spotify and found it was much more to my liking.

There have been other examples of the streaming services apparently acquiring different digital copies.

Qobuz just emailed me my year summary.
How many minutes listened, Most popular genres / tracks / albums / artists. Most popular listening time and even some suggestions.
No surprises on which tracks and artists. Some of the tracks are faithful test tracks I revert to when evaluating system changes, some I just love the music or the bass😀

Some surprises in mine. I wish Qobuz kept an accessible running total of tracks played, it would be very interesting to see changes since I started using it.
The best thing Qobuz have done is to expand their catalogue and include so much more hi-res material. I'm waiting for Dire Straits in hi-res.
