My take on the councils' part in this is that they helped create the situation by granting planning permission to soulless out of town retail developments. This has certainly helped in killing the high street, as another poster said the High Street will soon be Kwoffee shops, Nail Bars and Charity shops oh and of course Estate Agents. |

Can't see Estate Agents successfully fighting the online tide of Purple Bricks or others
Think bookies have had it as well - all going online from the little I know
