Following recommendation from SnoopDog, I've decided to join this forum. Love all things Music and the system tweaks that make it all possible.
I have a turntable, but find I stream more digital content of late. Just looking for sharing experiences with other like minded individuals.

Hi and welcome to The Audio Standard. It's great that you decided to join in. What does your system consist of just now?

Hi and welcome to The Audio Standard. It's great that you decided to join in. What does your system consist of just now? Currently I have Boenicke W11 speakers, run by Mark Levinson 5805, and I'm using an SOtM SMS200 SE with USB into the ML. Also run an Acoustic Signature Wow XL turntable with TA 700 tone arm and Sound Smith Otello cart finished off with HiDiamond HDX2 and full cable loom of HiDiamond.

Hi mad4it, Merry Christmas and welcome to the forum. Which streaming services have you been using? Because you can't get all the albums you want from a single source, I use Tidal and Qobuz.

Hi mad4it (hifi and music, I assume, rather than anything else?) and welcome to TAS. Would you care to share your 1st name? I'm Jerry. I take a different approach to streaming services as I'm a bit of a tight git - I tend to alternate between services to get better music coverage - currently on TIDAL for its 4 months for £1.99 Black Friday deal, but I plan to go back to Qobuz for a while after that. Very nice those Boenicke speakers, one of the very few makes that have made me scratch my chin a bit and ponder about my MBLs!

Sure, it's James. Funny there was a pair of MBL (Standmount) playing in another of the demo rooms when I was in to listen to the Boenicke. I was impressed with the MBL, but when I listened to some of my reference tracks, the Boenicke tone won out. Some of those tracks for me are; Damien Jurado - Bad Dreams. Angus & Julia Stone - Draw Your Swords.....when the vocals in each kick in, there is a real richness in both....I've heard in some systems that miss that big time, but not on the Boenicke....the rest of the system can still rob that rich tone too....so careful partnering is still required. I like Mark Levinson. Amps that don't work for me....Moon 700i....too clinical!

Hi James
Yes, I've heard standmount MBLs and while they do have the imaging magic they don't have the tonal weight and heft of my floorstanders.
And yes, you have to choose the presentation that suits you, there are lots of variations to choose from!

A, sorry about that, pain point for me. They get plenty of good press, and they look stunning. So I saved and saved, bought one....got it home...and all the joy was removed from all my fav music. But put that down to run in. Left it on 24/7 for 200 hours....same result. Tried other speakers....same result. Moved over to Plinius and boom my tone was back, bass too.....

Opinions here are expected and welcome though not everyone will agree
However I would not disagree with your thoughts at all
