A curious coincidence. This recent research paper ties in with the rotating moon image. The nearside and farside of the Moon look very different, with several vast volcanic lava plains, dark "mare", dominating the appearance of the nearside that don't appear on the farside. The new research indicates that a massive ancient asteroid impact was the cause of this dichotomy. phys.org/news/2022-04-differences-moon-sides-linked-colossal.html
