Mine took a couple of weeks because they were out of stock. Shipping seems to take about 5 days, but I am not entirely sure because it was left in my recycling bin without putting a note through the door. It nearly got recycled...

No,but they're a good cable company and I'd expect it to be good.

My 0.5m "Nordost" cable arrived the other day. Since is cost only £10 it is very impressive. My comparison is with a 0.5m Pangea USB running between the Oehlbach reclocker and my Caiman SEG DAC. As Martin noted, there is lots of bass, which is punchier too. The sound stage is a little deeper. The top-end is there but is more reserved, some detail missing. At this point, I would say it is more a matter of personall preference between the two cables. I'll keep using it for a while to see if the top-end opens out. I'll then decide whether to get another to replace the Pangeas completely (the 0.5m one is doing duties between the RPI4 and reclocker) or stick with the Pangeas.

You really can't knock the 'Nordost' for the cost.

Just a quick update on the 'Nordost' after some burn in time. The treble has now opened out nicely and I am liking the sound I am getting a lot. I have been using it between reclocker and my Caiman SEG. Of course I had to try between the RPI4 and reclocker. This is where things went strange. The SEG USB Led dims when it has a signal but with the 'Nordost' on the RPI4 USB 2.0 port the led remained bright - and no sound. Moving to the UBB 3.0 port the led flashed randomly. However, connected directly to the DAC the cable was fine. Clearly, for some reason, it and the reclocker don't want to play nicely together. Anyway, I wont be buying another to replace the Pangea.

Interesting. The USB specifications are rigorous and perhaps it doesn't conform in all ways.
I remember reading Sommovigo's (Black Cat) interview where he said that making a USB cable that both conformed to spec and sounded good was very difficult.

l know this thread hasn't been used for a while. Just wondering if any views have changed on USB cables. l noticed the Chinese are selling cheap Nordost Odin 2 cables, has anyone tried them? About 5 years ago l purchased a few 0.5 cables via Amazon, they where around the £20 mark l think, my surprise winner was a Hama Double Sheilded gold connection, just had the edge over a Lindy Cromo. Any views are welcome

l know this thread hasn't been used for a while. Just wondering if any views have changed on USB cables. l noticed the Chinese are selling cheap DODGY COPIES OF Nordost Odin 2 cables, has anyone tried them?About 5 years ago l purchased a few 0.5 cables via Amazon, they where around the £20 mark l think, my surprise winner was a Hama Double Sheilded gold connection, just had the edge over a Lindy Cromo. Any views are welcome Damien There y'go. I've fixed that for you. To be serious, the only authentic thing you'll probably find is the name. The components, and even the construction, may be nothing like what they're being sold as. It doesn't make them bad cables, as I proved (It was quite interesting reading through this post again) just not what they're advertised as. It really is a case of you pays your money and you takes your chances on Chinese sites. AliExpress used to be better than most, and it probably still is after seeing some of the crap on Wish etc, but even that's just been added to America's online fraud and piracy list. The safest bet is to actually buy stuff that's not pretending to be something else I think. I'm now a USB-free zone, so I don't have a dog in the race, but before I switched I ended up with a chain of: Tinkerboard >>> WireWorld Starlight7 >>> Oehlback Reclocker >>> WireWorld Starlight7 >>> Schiit WYRD >>> AudioQuest Carbon >>> DAC It's my second system, and not awfully expensive, pretty much everything at the time was bought used, but I'd happily recommend any of those USB cables.

That's interesting, the likes of AQ Carbon are still up there. l used to have a Light Harmonic a few years back, that was very good.
Of course just wondering if there has been any new contenders. Are if there new recommendations on the block.

The AQ Carbon is a good cable, as is the Wireworld Starlight 8.
Top of the tree is the Mad Scientist Black Magic that I now use.

I have tried a few as my default output from the Fidata server to DAC is by USB. The Teddy Pardo cable was pretty good, but I switched to an AQVox Edge having started to use their network cables and was impressed. I have now moved on to the AQVox Blaze and that is where I will stay I suspect.

Thanks Martin, l guess there so much on the market these days. l have purchased a Gustard U18,early days, but very positive so far. l may take a punt on the Gothic Audio, and the fact you can have a 0.3m cable length.
