What is it about the albums we like/love and why do others not rate them anywhere near the same, hate them even ? Choices can be spot on with your own taste and yet the same person can choose an album you cannot bear. How difficult is it to work out albums to share to rapturous applause from all sides ? Will AI work it out for us one day ? Thinking about this earlier when playing Chris 's choice on the main system for the first time. Chemical Brothers - Exit planet dust. I like some of their stuff quite a lot. Exit planet dust is ok for me. Chris's choice of Awol Nation was brilliant. Wonderful to have that found for me. |

I'm not sure any of us could explain our likes and dislikes.
It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing. Sometimes it's fun to see our favourites shot down by others, other times it's nice to gain agreement over an album.

I can go part way with my dislike of most female vocal, although I like a few and love a very few.
Love simple, say one acoustic guitar as well as massively busy and complicated, Gentle Giant would be one

I reckon the value of association comes into it a lot. You were maybe having a great time on holiday and a certain album was playing or such like so therefore it's a mix of things that create the likes and dislikes.
I can't have much to do with this thread as I dont really listen to albums but I'm with Mike and Martin here - it's interesting AND I'm glad don't all share the same tastes.
