I am pleased to announce that the winner of the TAS Album Choice of the Year 2017 is @losenotaminute with his choice, Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker  My first exposure to Cohen was while watching the amazing, and disturbing, Natural Born Killers film in which his track "Waiting For The Miracle" was featured. The song felt to me like it was designed just for this scene in the movie. The song has such a strong vibe. Then decades later I heard on the radio the song You Want It Darker. I knew it was the same artist from the movie, instantly. And I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Something that had a new sound to me, instead of just another recycled sound. Cohen's music always leaves an impression in me. I'm not surprised to see his album won. |
