I'm listening to a Bernstein version via my Limetree. How does this version stack up? Sounds good to me but I'm still discovering a lot of classical music now I have an amazing player which lets me hear what's going on

Oh yes, you need high quality to fully appreciate Stravinsky. Hearing the intricate way the orchestral sections call-and-respond is fascinating and for that you need a convincing soundstage.

I'm currently listening to this... ...and while it's what I would describe as "typical" ballet music, in so much as I don't think it sustains a narrative in isolation from the dance component, I much prefer it to Rite... Parts are actually, conventionally, musical.

Give Petrushka a try too, Paul. It's rather good.

Give Petrushka a try too, Paul. It's rather good. I have a choice of Dutiot again, or Boulez, for that. Next up though I may give his "Symphony of Psalms" a go.
