I can't help remembering another regular forum person having a similar sort of NAD machine - many £k - it went wrong and was not serviceable. Sadly he doesn't have a yacht so can't even use it as a boat anchor. Kind of put me off the brand. I'm sure it's coincidence that it says "Goodbye" on the display. But, yes, very nice legs. I thought the very same, I think it was something like an M2 or similar, they couldn't replace the main board as no longer made, which at the time I thought was pretty poor as it wasn't an old machine

Here's the inside of the M22.2 Looks like there's a fair amount going on here - I have no idea why but I thought digital amps would be simpler than this ...

The toroid inductors in the middle of each power amp circuit give away its T-amp (class D) origins.

For me, something like this has far too much going on in it. I think it will probably sell well, as ticks a lot of boxes for the style conscious space-saving device that seems to be pretty intuitive and gives a lot of streaming options!

...mmm...it does look very interesting! A present-day, grown-up Sinclair Project 60? R That's going back a bit. As a teen I wanted the Sinclair kit. As an adult, I'm glad I waited and built the Linsley-Hood instead.

Yes Martin, I can recall being completely taken in by the Sinclair adverts...so much so I bought the lot...active filters, tuner etc. I too built the Linsey Hood. Etching one's own PCBs was a steep learning curve. I think I even incorporated the Pro 60 active filter unit into the LH design. There was a horrible switch-on screech from the amp if the phono section was engaged. I wonder if I still have it in the attic somewhere...?

I think I chucked mine. Excellent power amp circuit, less good preamp. I redesigned it without all the tone controls. Haven't had any since.

...Wandering off-topic here I know...but continuing the Sinclair theme...was it you who told us that the later (and highly respected) Neoteric amp was a Class 'D'. If so it seems way before its time. Were there others before this? R
