This Lenovo has done well and shown I want to use a laptop
This is a Lenovo ThinkPad T410, Webcam, i5, 500 HDD, 4Gb, W10
Rather than upgrade the HD to SS I have decided to go for another Laptop, Lenovo
I want much faster boot up and faster operation
SSD will give me more speed. Small is fine How useful to go up from an i5 for mostly web browsing on wifi ? 4GB enough or is more better and by how much ? Bigger screen would be useful
Owt I forgot ?

If you are only going to be using it for the internet, Mike, I'd consider a Chromebook. Cheaper, more reliable, boots in a few seconds, regular updates that also install in seconds...

Tell us what you want to do with it. Specifically, what apps do you use? That'll help narrow down the choice.

That may be it

Without knowing things like budget, ideal screen-size, or even whether you'd consider a decent used model from eBay, it's difficult to advise you, Mike. Something like this is a middle-of-the-road sort of machine though. There's an article on Chromebooks here and although its aimed at the American market it covers all of the basics pretty well. You could even get a Lenovo

OK, if you want to use it for photos forget Chromebooks altogether

Don't want to *take* photos on a Chromebook, just have them on there - if that makes a difference
2nd hand for sure

You won't have the storage space on a Chromebook, Mike. Everything about them is geared towards using the web. 95% of the applications a Chromebook uses are purely web-based and accessed via the Chrome browser, that's one of the reasons that they can boot up so fast. Most of them have storage space of 16-64 GB, which is quite tiny by Windows standards. You can buy them with SSD drives, or use an external hard drive via USB, but once you start doing that you're ignoring half of your reasons for buying a Chromebook over a Laptop in the first place.

Thanks
Rethink. I'd like a small amount of photos on there. 5-10 4mb each. Can host others on Imgur, possibly all of them.

Stick with a Windows laptop, Mike. Better the devil you know and all that.

No more than i5 needed, Mike. 8GB RAM if you can.

I care not if you want to spend twice as much as you need to for a laptop!
