In New Zealand, the tourist destinations are priced high.
They are looking to get as much from the tourists as possible.
South Island driving is okay, except for too many dangerous tourist drivers (no joke).
Mostly those who come from right hand side countries. A real problem.
Fly and drive is a really good option.
Took my family to the South Island five years ago (where I grew up).
21 days down east coast and up the west coast.
Scenery is more the drawcard, rather than history.

What will you be doing in Ireland Brett? My wife's family emigrated from the south in the mid 1800s. Standing on the spots they would have. She has planned that part of the trip. |
